Job summary

Xolo is seeking a Product Engineer to join the Accounting and Ledger team. You will design, build, and maintain backend and frontend systems powering the platform, with API-driven workflows and end-to-end ownership from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.

You will work on ledger, VAT, and regulatory filing integrations across Europe, balancing security, performance, and reliability while staying curious about AI-assisted engineering and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience with Java and Spring Boot in production environments.
• Experience building products in accounting, tax, ledger, financial reporting, or regulated environments.
• Hands-on experience with accounting or ledger systems and regulatory or tax-authority filing integrations.
• Solid understanding of double-entry accounting, VAT and tax reporting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend and frontend systems powering our core platform.
• Deliver solutions via API to UX with workflow automation as the default model.
• Own end-to-end solutions from problem understanding to implementation and monitoring.
• Translate accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements into scalable product experiences.
• Build and maintain integrations with tax authorities and regulatory filing systems.
• Maintain reconciliation and period-close workflows to keep ledgers balanced and closed on time.
• Make technical decisions balancing security, performance, and maintainability.
• Improve observability, reliability, and engineering practices across the platform.
• Explore AI-assisted engineering workflows and developer tooling.
