Job summary

Kooler Industries Incorporated in the Philippines seeks a Product Development Supervisor (Engineer) to oversee the development and production of new products and improvements. You will lead teams, coordinate with QA, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing to translate market needs into specs, and drive robust product validation.

The role requires a Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial background with 3–5 years of relevant experience and supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Food Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in product development, R&D, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Prefer supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Experience in product design, prototyping, testing, improvement, and validation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, components, and specs.
• Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD/SolidWorks is preferred.
• Willing to conduct site visits, testing, troubleshooting, and supplier coordination.

Responsibilities

ob Purpose:

The Product Development Supervisor (Engineer) will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring activities related to the development and production of new products, as well as improvement of existing products, parts, systems, and designs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Product Development

• Lead the development of new products and product improvements from concept to production.
• Evaluate product concepts based on technical feasibility, cost, quality, and market requirements
• Develop and review product specifications, drawings, BOMs, prototypes, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate prototype fabrication, testing, evaluation, and revisions.

2. Product Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve existing products in terms of quality, performance, reliability, functionality, and cost
• Investigate product defects and technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement product improvement initiatives.

3. Team Supervision

• Supervise and guide Product Development Engineers/Associates and other assigned personnel.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of development projects.
• Evaluate team performance and provide coaching and technical guidance.

4. Testing & Validation

• Develop and implement product testing and validation procedures.
• Review test results and determine whether products meet required specifications.
• Coordinate with QA and Production to ensure products are ready for mass production.

5. Production Support

• Provide technical support during pilot runs, trial production, and mass production.
• Work closely with Production to resolve manufacturing and product-related issues.
• Ensure that product designs are practical and suitable for manufacturing.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with QA, Production, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, and suppliers throughout the product development process.
• Translate customer/market requirements into appropriate product specifications.
• Assist Sales and Marketing teams with technical information, product specifications, and product presentations when needed.

7. Cost & Supplier Management

• Assist in evaluating product costs, materials, components, and manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding technical specifications, samples, prototypes, and alternative materials/components.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality and performance.

8. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate product development records, drawings, specifications, test reports, BOMs, and revision histories.
• Ensure products comply with applicable company standards, safety requirements, and relevant industry/regulatory standards.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field
• With 3–5 years of relevant experience in product development, R&D, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry
• Preferably with supervisory or team-lead experience
• Experience in product design, prototyping, testing, product improvement, and product validation
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, components, and product specifications
• For HVAC/refrigeration-related companies: experience with HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, electrical/mechanical components, or related products is an advantage
• Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools is preferred
• Knowledge of product costing, BOM (Bill of Materials), technical documentation, and quality standards
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Good communication and project management skills
• Able to lead a team and coordinate with Production, QA, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and other departments
• Willing to conduct site visits, product testing, troubleshooting, and supplier coordination when required

9. Must be willing to work at Quezon City.
