MEGA PRIME FOODS INCORPORATED is seeking a Procurement Officer – Direct & Indirect Goods to source, negotiate, and acquire raw materials, packaging, and MRO for manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate with Supply Chain, QA, Plant Operations, and Finance to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality across sites.
The role requires 2–4 years in FMCG/food procurement, strong supplier negotiation, and ERP/Excel skills, with a commitment to food safety standards and compliance.
The Procurement Officer – Direct & Indirect Goods is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring raw materials, packaging, factory supplies (MRO), and general indirect goods/services necessary for manufacturing and operational continuity. This role works closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Plant Operations, and Finance to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and high quality standards across Mega Prime Foods facilities.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for direct goods (raw food ingredients, tinplate, packaging materials) and indirect goods (MRO, plant equipment spare parts, office/facility supplies).
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations (KPIs on quality, on-time delivery, compliance, and cost).
Build and maintain strong, long-term vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and preferred terms.
Lead commercial negotiations, RFPs, RFQs, and bidding processes to achieve cost-optimization targets without compromising quality or safety.
Draft, review, and finalize purchase contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) in alignment with corporate compliance policies.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) promptly based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and inventory reorder points.
Track order fulfillment, monitor delivery schedules, and resolve shipment delays or discrepancies with plant teams and suppliers.
Partner with Quality Assurance (QA) to address non-conforming goods, material returns, and credit memos.
Monitor commodity price trends, market supply fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting raw/packaging materials.
Implement spend analysis to identify cost-saving initiatives, alternate sourcing strategies, and value-engineering opportunities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any related field.
Experience: 2 to 4 years of procurement or supply chain experience within the FMCG, Food Manufacturing, or Consumer Goods industry.
Skills:
Strong expertise in sourcing both direct manufacturing inputs and plant/MRO indirects.
Proven track record in supplier negotiation, contract drafting, and spend analytics.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel.
Deep understanding of food safety/quality standards (HACCP, ISO, FDA compliance) as applied to supplier evaluation.
