Duties and Responsibilities
Domestic & Import Purchases:
- Supervises the process of sourcing and purchasing of goods essential for business operations.
- Leads in Research on potential vendors and compares/evaluates offers from suppliers including Negotiation of Contract Terms of Agreement and Pricing.
- Creates and maintains good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is of high quality and is delivered on time.
- Oversees submission and receipt of pertinent Import Clearances (SPS & MAV).
- Continuously coordinates with Suppliers and/or Courier Service Providers regarding Shipping Schedule and documentary requirements.
- Ensures accuracy in order details entries (i.e. vendor name, quantities, prices) into internal databases (Monitoring GSheet) including maintenance of updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
- Certifies / ensures accuracy of submitted reports on purchases, including cost analyses & monitoring of stock levels.
- Coordinates with Warehouse & Logistics Team to ascertain proper storage of purchased items.
- Must know how to create a Purchasing plan and execute.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any business-related course
- At least 2 years of relevant supervisory experience in Local and Import Purchasing in Food or Logistics sector
- Has adequate knowledge on estimating, planning, inventory management, cost and budgetary preparation, supervision and management, and best practices in purchasing
- Knowledgeable in computer software applications including MS Office Suite/Google docs/sheets/ERP
- Excellent organizational, planning, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills
- Keen attention to details
- Proficient oral and written English communication and presentation skills
