Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services at competitive prices. This role involves supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and collaboration with various departments to meet organizational needs.
Full compliance of Supply Chain policies, procedures and strategy.
Recommend improvements to departmental procedures so that all relevant procedure /legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to customers.
Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and products
Analyzing supplier bids and negotiating contracts
Maintaining accurate records and tracking all procurement activities
Evaluating suppliers and their performance periodically
Participating in strategic planning meetings to align procurement goals with company objectives
Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of procurement regulations and laws
Developing policies and procedures for the procurement process
Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders
Identifying areas for cost savings and implementing cost-saving strategies
Ensure that all reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet company/department requirements, policies and standards.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and control across the department to guarantee employees safety, legislative, compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Experience in Pharma industry is a plus
Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess supplier performance and market trends.
