The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services required by the organization. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, supplier quality, and compliance with company policies and contractual requirements.
Procurement – Duties & Responsibilities
1. Supplier Sourcing
- Identify and evaluate external suppliers and service providers
- Find cost-effective and reliable outsourcing partners
- Maintain an approved supplier list
2. Vendor Evaluation & Selection
- Request and compare quotations (RFQ/RFP)
- Assess suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and capability
- Conduct basic supplier due diligence
3. Contract & Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels
- Support contract preparation and agreement finalization
- Ensure outsourcing contracts meet company requirements
4. Supplier Performance Monitoring
- Track supplier performance (quality, delivery, service)
- Address performance issues and follow up on corrective actions
- Support supplier relationship management
5. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise between internal teams and outsourced suppliers
- Resolve issues related to outsourced services or deliveries
- Provide procurement status updates to management
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in:
- Business Administration or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (fresh graduates may be considered)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Attention to detail and good documentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
