Job summary

SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage the end-to-end procurement process. You will ensure materials and services are acquired for the best value from the right vendors at the right time.

The role involves reviewing requisitions, researching vendors, conducting bids, evaluating bids, and preparing Purchase Orders with proper approvals. Travel to plants nationwide and work in BGC, Taguig are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Willing to travel to various plants nationwide and work in BGC, Taguig.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions to ensure complete details for solicitations.
• Source possible vendors or contractors to improve supply chain.
• Conduct bidding and ensure fair treatment of suppliers.
• Evaluate bids and negotiate with bidders per company terms.
• Prepare Purchase Orders and obtain approvals per company guidelines.
• Monitor orders and verify quantities and specifications against Purchase Orders.
• Periodically evaluate vendors' performance against standards.
• Review purchase requests, quotations and contracts.
• Prepare canvass sheets, purchase orders, notices to proceed, and payment requests.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Job description

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing the entire end -to-end procurement process. He / She will ensure that materials and services are acquired in the most advantageous purchase value to the right vendor at the right time.

Main Responsibilities:

• Reviews purchase requisitions enduring that the details are complete and correct in accordance to the minimum details needed to solicit bids from vendors
• Research & source out possible vendors or contractors that can help improve the supply chain of the company
• Conducts bidding ensuring that suppliers or contractors are treated fairly and equally
• Evaluates bids, conduct negotiations with the bidder and recommends based on the company's set of terms for external providers
• Prepares Purchase Order and ensure that proper approval is followed based on the level of approvals defined by the company
• Monitor ordered goods, materials or services and verify with the end-user if the item delivered is with correct quantity and specifications as per Purchase Order
• Periodically evaluates vendors' performance to ensure that they meet company's expected standards & qualifications
• Review Purchase Request, Quotations and Contracts
• Prepare Canvass Sheet, Purchase Order, Notice to Proceed and processes Request for Payments
• Performs other related tasks that maybe assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• With at least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience (Procurement, Purchasing, Technical Buying, Cost Validation)
• Able to travel in various plants nationwide whenever necessary
• Must be able to work in BGC, Taguig
