Job summary

DOF is seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant in the Philippines to support day-to-day procurement of spare parts, consumables, and services for operational assets. You will coordinate with suppliers, manage orders and deliveries, and help ensure timely payments while complying with DOF procurement procedures.

The role requires strong English communication, IT skills, and a background in procurement within marine/oil & gas sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, or related field relevant to Marine, Oil and Gas industry.
• Experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, supply chain or related role, preferably in Marine/Oil & Gas/offshore.
• Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of IT systems and procurement software (IFS, TM Master, Unit4 UBW, Basware advantageous).
• Strong coordination, problem-solving and supplier management to support timely procurement and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support operational procurement of spare parts, consumables and/or services for one or more assets.
• Forward spares and other commodities for forwarding modes (except urgent).
• Contact and resolve issues with vendors and suppliers.
• Develop positive supplier relationships with key stakeholders and DOF procurement.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure availability and smooth operation onboard vessels.
• Provide input on supplier performance based on daily interactions.
• Ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Adhere to standard procurement processes.
