Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a senior manufacturing process engineer to lead development, optimization, and qualification of assembly and test processes. You will drive yield improvements and manage transfers, ramp-ups, and process validation, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with Product, Equipment, Quality, Operations and global teams.

100% onsite in the Philippines, with cleanroom work. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years in semiconductor/manufacturing; Lean Six

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electronics/electrical/mechanical/chemical).
• 5+ years in semiconductor, laser, photonics or optoelectronics manufacturing.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams; Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimization, and qualification of manufacturing processes on both assembly and test
• Drive improvements in yield, quality, process capability, productivity and cost through data-driven problem solving
• Manage product transfer, equipment commissioning, process validation, and production ramp-up activities
• Lead root-cause investigations and preventive/corrective actions for process defects, reliability concerns, and manufacturing issues
• Manage, develop, and mentor process engineers and technicians with close stakeholder coordination like Product Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, Operations and global technical teams

Education & Experience

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical orChemical
• With 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, laser, photonics or optoelectronics manufacturing
• At least 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams with expertise in process development, qualification, yield improvement, and production ramp-up; Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage.

Skills

• Demonstrates deep knowledge and broad experience in manufacturing processes for both assembly and testing such as die attach, thermal cycling, burn-in, test, etc
• Strong skills in process development, qualification, validation, SPC, DOE, PFMEA, GR&R, and capability analysis
• Proven ability to lead root-cause analysis, yield improvement, defect reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Effective leadership, team development, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong business judgment, technical communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder-management competencies

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite. This will require working inside the cleanroom.
