About the role

This role supports capital project execution across the full project lifecycle, from initial justification through asset capitalization. You will coordinate technical documentation, budget tracking, procurement activities, and stakeholder alignment to ensure projects are delivered on scope, schedule, and budget within the AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) framework.

Key responsibilities

• Gather technical specifications, vendor quotes, and engineering estimates to build CAPEX and AACE documentation
• Assist in drafting technical justification, ROI calculations, and cost-benefit analyses for corporate CapEx approval
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to align proposed technical scope with organizational strategic goals
• Break down approved AACE amounts into detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and cost-loaded project schedules
• Coordinate with supply chain teams to align technical rollout schedules with long-lead equipment procurement and vendor contract timelines
• Identify technical risks that could cause cost overruns and assist in defining appropriate contingency reserves
• Facilitate creation of technical requisitions and track Purchase Orders against approved AACE line items
• Serve as technical point of contact for external vendors and contractors, ensuring work meets technical specifications before invoicing
• Maintain rigorous documentation of completed technical milestones to trigger scheduled project payments
• Track actual expenditures and commitments against approved AACE budget, flagging potential overruns early
• Generate regular financial-technical variance reports for project leadership
• Manage technical documentation and justification process for supplemental AACE approvals and scope changes
• Work with Finance to transition completed project elements from Work-in-Progress to fixed assets in corporate registry
• Conduct final financial and technical reconciliation to formally close out AACE documentation
• Analyze technical performance data and cost variances to contribute to lessons learned for future AACE applications

About you

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Industrial Technology, or highly related technical field) preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in technical project coordination, operations support, or engineering assistant role within manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• Fresh graduates with strong relevant academic background, capstone projects, or internship experience encouraged to apply
• Basic understanding of the 5 project management phases, technical drawings, and process validation concepts
• Familiarity with AACE costing concepts or project tracking software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira) is a strong plus
• Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to manage technical files, engineering changes, and administrative tracking simultaneously
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with production technicians, contractors, vendors, and internal supervisors
