Job summary

OceanaGold’s Didipio Mine in the Philippines seeks a Principal Mining Engineer to lead long-term Life of Mine planning, aligning technical and economic inputs for safe, efficient and sustainable outcomes.

You will coordinate across technical and operational teams, develop robust planning standards, and mentor engineers while maintaining regulatory compliance and strong safety practices for all on-site activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Extensive underground mine planning experience, minimum 10 years; open stoping preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mine planning, scheduling principles and sustainable mining practices.
• Proficiency in Deswik CAD and Scheduling Suite.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, including technical reports and presentations across the business.
• Exposure to international mining practices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimisation of Life of Mine plans, production schedules and infrastructure requirements.
• Coordinate quarterly and long-term planning activities across technical and operational teams.
• Monitor and update mine plans based on operational performance and business priorities.
• Conduct scenario analysis and trade-off studies to support decisions.
• Develop and maintain mine planning standards, systems and procedures.
• Support safe and efficient mining operations through planning and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Build strong working relationships across site and corporate teams for integrated planning.
• Mentor and develop engineering personnel while promoting safety culture.
