Job summary

NightOwl Consulting Philippines Inc. is seeking a Pre-Underwrite Reviewer to provide underwriting support and help ensure a smooth home-buying experience for customers.

You will review borrower documents, verify income and assets, and assist with calculations under the supervision of senior underwriters. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in junior or underwriting roles, with Encompass experience being a strong plus and a solid grasp of mortgage processing and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Experience using Encompass loan origination software is a huge benefit.
• Prior experience with mortgage processing or underwriting is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Pre-underwrite loan files by reviewing borrower documentation such as credit reports, income documents, and assets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with income calculations and verify supporting documents.
• Support senior underwriters in identifying potential risks and issues in loan applications.
• Ensure all loan applications comply with company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders and lenders to resolve issues and ensure timely processing of loan applications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines for Conventional, FHA, VA, and other loan types.

Key Responsibilities

• Only those with 2+ years of Junior or Underwriting Experience will get an interview. Once you apply you will be sent a video interview link. You will only get an in-person interview if you complete the video interview task first
• Encompass experience preferred.
