Job summary

Upgrade Energy Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Pre-sales Design Engineer to develop technical deliverables for solar and BESS projects. You will translate customer requirements into feasible designs and support the sales team with technical proposals and site assessments.

The role requires a licensed REE, strong PV system knowledge, and proficiency in PVsyst and AutoCAD. You will collaborate across teams to ensure compliant, optimized solutions and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) with valid license.
Strong understanding of photovoltaic systems, PEC/IEC standards, and construction practices.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD, and relevant design tools.
Knowledge of BESS sizing and energy storage applications.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, load profiles, and site information.
Proven ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously with accuracy.
Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies in a dynamic work setting.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to translate technical requirements into practical and commercially viable solutions.
Good communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Develop technical proposals and design deliverables for solar and BESS projects.
Prepare and optimize PV layouts, SLDs, BOMs, and system sizing.
Perform PVsyst simulations, energy yield analysis, shading analysis, and other assessments.
Conduct BESS sizing and energy storage calculations based on load profiles and system configuration.
Ensure designs consider site conditions, codes, and project constraints.
Review RFPs/TORs to define project scope and technical specifications.
Translate requirements into design assumptions and deliverables.
Identify clarifications, risks, and deviations; coordinate with Sales.
