Job summary

You will work closely with fresh produce in a retail setting, ensuring accurate labeling, inventory control, and attractive product displays. Reliability, precision, and teamwork are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a butcher or chicken cutter in retail or food service.
• Strong knowledge of poultry products, cuts and prep techniques.
• Proficiency with butchery equipment and knife hygiene.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and meat handling best practices.
• Physical ability to stand and perform repetitive cutting motions.
• Reliable and able to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, and portion chicken and poultry per specs and customer needs.
• Maintain sharp knives and ensure equipment hygiene and storage.
• Adhere to food safety, handling, storage, and temp control.
• Prepare and package meat for display with weight and price labelling.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs.
• Keep work station clean and sanitised.
• Collaborate with retail and sales for customer requests and special orders.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist merchandising displays to enhance product visibility.
