Job summary

Caldic APAC in Pasig City seeks a Technical Support Manager for Polymers (Plastics & Rubber) and Packaging. You will lead technical value creation, specify materials, and drive commercial growth by advising converters, brand owners, and end-users, while coordinating with sales, application scientists, and regional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a closely related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years in customer-facing technical sales, technical service or technical application advisory within B2B Specialty Chemicals or ingredients distribution for Polymers and Packaging.
• Ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
• Strong consultative selling skills, with growth through upselling and cross-selling.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather market intelligence with local teams, tracking trends in lightweighting, sustainability and processing efficiency.
• Identify customer technical challenges and recommend polymer resins, rubber compounds, masterbatches and additives.
• Coordinate sampling, formulation support and prototype requests through regional labs or partner facilities.
• Interpret and apply test data (tensile, elongation, MFI, dart impact, hardness, barrier properties, haze, gloss).
• Collaborate with sales, regional scientists and principal specialists; manage trial loops and integrate feedback.
• Iterate solutions with labs based on line-trial feedback; troubleshoot defects and ensure processing stability.
• Develop commercial cost analyses and guide packaging format specifications.
