Job summary

Caldic is seeking a Technical Support Manager for Polymers (Plastics & Rubber) and Packaging in Pasig, Philippines. The role is hybrid, customer-facing, and centers on delivering technical value, material specs and commercial growth for converters and brand owners in the region.

You will troubleshoot processing bottlenecks, translate test data into actionable value, and collaborate with regional teams to tailor resin and additive solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related field.
• At least 5 years in customer-facing technical sales or technical service in Polymers/Packaging.
• Experience with converters and brand owners.
• Strong consultative selling and relationship-building.
• Proficient in MS Office and CRM; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Gather market, converter and brand-owner intelligence in collaboration with local teams; track trends in lightweighting, sustainability, circular economy, and processing efficiency.
• Identify customer technical challenges and recommend specialty polymer resins, rubber compounds, masterbatches and additives.
• Coordinate customer sampling, formulation support and prototype requests with Caldic labs or partners; ensure briefs, specs, and timelines are clear.
• Interpret test data (tensile strength, elongation, MFI, dart impact, hardness, barrier properties, haze, gloss) for evaluating materials.
• Collaborate with sales, application scientists and specialists; manage trial loops and integrate customer feedback.
• Iterate solutions with labs based on line-trial feedback; troubleshoot defects and ensure processing stability.
• Develop commercial cost analyses and advise on packaging formats and structure (monolayer vs multilayer, gauge down-gauging, barrier requirements).
• Serve as technical bridge between local plants and suppliers to guide trials and qualification.
