- Oversee the overall day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant.
- Ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective production of food products.
- Develop and implement production plans based on business and inventory requirements.
- Ensure that production targets, schedules, and operational standards are consistently met.
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
2. Production Management
- Monitor production activities to ensure products are manufactured according to approved specifications.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials, equipment, and production facilities.
- Monitor production output, efficiency, downtime, and productivity.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Purchasing, and other departments regarding production requirements.
- Implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce production losses.
3. Quality and Food Safety
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and food safety requirements.
- Maintain proper sanitation, hygiene, and housekeeping within the plant.
- Ensure that raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products meet established quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team regarding product quality issues and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and processing of food products to prevent contamination and wastage.
4. Inventory and Materials Management
- Monitor the availability and proper utilization of raw materials, packaging materials, and other production supplies.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Minimize material losses, spoilage, overproduction, and wastage.
- Ensure proper inventory control and accurate production-related records.
5. Equipment and Maintenance
- Ensure that production equipment, machinery, and facilities are properly maintained.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Recommend replacement, repair, or improvement of equipment when necessary.
- Ensure that employees properly operate and care for company equipment.
6. Manpower Management
- Lead, supervise, and manage plant personnel.
- Prepare manpower requirements and work schedules based on production needs.
- Monitor employee attendance, productivity, performance, and discipline.
- Provide training and coaching to employees regarding production procedures, safety, quality, and food handling.
- Ensure that employees follow company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
7. Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure a safe working environment within the plant.
- Implement and monitor workplace safety procedures and practices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable food manufacturing, health, safety, sanitation, and environmental requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and operational hazards and implement preventive measures.
8. Cost and Productivity Management
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenses.
- Control labor, material, utility, and operational costs.
- Implement programs to reduce wastage and improve resource utilization.
- Monitor production efficiency and recommend process improvements.
9. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve production processes, workflow, productivity, and product quality.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
- Review operational procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency.
- Use production data and performance reports to identify areas requiring improvement.
10. Reporting and Coordination
- Prepare regular reports regarding production output, productivity, quality, downtime, manpower, wastage, and other plant performance indicators.
- Present plant performance and operational concerns to Top Management.
- Immediately scale major production, quality, safety, equipment, or manpower concerns.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth end-to-end business operations.
