Private Advertiser is seeking a Plant Engineer (Maintenance) to inspect, support operations, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel power plant equipment for safe, reliable performance.
The role requires reading electrical diagrams, coordinating repairs, and maintaining records, with a focus on safety and adherence to LOTO procedures. Shifts and on-call duties may be required to minimize downtime.
The Plant Engineer (Maintenance) is responsible for the inspection, operation support, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel power plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role also maintains accurate maintenance records, monitors equipment condition, and ensures the availability of necessary spare parts and materials.
Conduct regular inspection and monitoring of diesel power plant equipment, including generators, auxiliary equipment, and other mechanical and electrical systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to established maintenance schedules and procedures.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform or coordinate necessary repairs.
Assist in the operation and maintenance of diesel generators and related plant equipment to ensure reliable and efficient performance.
Monitor equipment condition and immediately report abnormalities, defects, or potential equipment failures.
Read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance activities, equipment history, and other maintenance-related updates.
Monitor spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies and coordinate requirements to maintain adequate inventory.Implement proper equipment shutdown, isolation, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance and repair activities.
Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, operating procedures, and applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Assist in emergency troubleshooting and plant call-outs when necessary to minimize equipment downtime.
Coordinate with plant operations and other personnel regarding maintenance schedules, equipment issues, and required corrective actions.
Recommend improvements to equipment reliability, maintenance practices, and overall plant efficiency.
Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the Plant Head.
Licensed Engineer, preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
Relevant training or certification related to diesel power plant operations, mechanical maintenance, or electrical maintenance is an advantage.
Knowledge and hands-on experience in diesel power plant operations and maintenance.Strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, including generators and auxiliary equipment.
Knowledgeable in preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.Capable of troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems.
Familiar with safety standards and LOTO procedures.
Able to read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
Willing and able to work on shifting schedules and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
