Job Summary
The Maintenance Head is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of all maintenance operations within the terminal or fuel facility. The role ensures the reliability, safety, and operational readiness of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems through effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs, proper resource management, and compliance with industry safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
- Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and breakdown maintenance activities for terminal facilities and operational equipment.
- Ensure continuous functionality of pumps, pipelines, generators, loading systems, electrical systems, and related facility equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and monitor maintenance activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion of work.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective and preventive maintenance solutions to minimize downtime.
Team Supervision and Coordination
- Supervise maintenance personnel, contractors, and service providers to ensure proper execution of maintenance tasks.
- Prepare work schedules, assign duties, and monitor team performance and productivity.
- Coordinate with operations and engineering teams regarding maintenance requirements, shutdowns, and repair activities.
Budget, Materials, and Facility Readiness
- Prepare maintenance budgets and monitor maintenance-related expenses.
- Process requests for spare parts, tools, materials, and equipment needed for maintenance operations.
- Ensure overall readiness, reliability, and safety of facility systems and infrastructure.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and monitor adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Participate in facility improvement initiatives, safety inspections, and operational audits.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, equipment history, and technical documentation.
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, operational issues, and corrective actions.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field.
- With 5 years relevant experience in maintenance operations/project head within Oil & Gas, petroleum, depot, terminal, or industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems used in fuel terminals or industrial operations.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
- Exposure to project management and facility improvement projects is an advantage.
- Knowledgeable in industry regulations, environmental compliance, and occupational safety standards.
- Preferably a Registered Master Electrician (RME) or licensed engineer.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in maintenance documentation, reporting, and operational coordination.
- Willing to work on-site and respond to operational emergencies when necessary.
