Job summary

Payscale, Inc. Manila is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in the Philippines. You will process semi-monthly payroll for 130+ employees, handle statutory contributions, and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Manage government contributions and remittances and other statutory payroll requirements.
• Administer and ensure accurate/remittance of SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR filings.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine labor laws and payroll regulations.
• Develop and maintain payroll SOPs and onboarding documents.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
• Act as backup to Payroll Manager and support other entities as needed.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to support our payroll operations in the Philippines. This role is responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll, maintaining employee data within HR and payroll systems, administering statutory contributions and compliance requirements, auditing payroll-related transactions, and providing exceptional employee support. The payroll specialist will report to Sr. Payroll Manager.

What You'll Do

• Process semi-monthly payroll for 130+ employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and benefits.

• Handle 13th-month pay, final pay, and year-end tax certificates.

• Audit payroll calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and local regulations

• Manage government contributions and remittances and other statutory payroll requirements.

• Administer and ensure the accurate and timely remittance of statutory contributions and compliance filings, including: Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)

• Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including payroll registers and journal entries.

• Ensure compliance with applicable Philippine labor laws, payroll regulations, and statutory requirements

• Develop and maintain detailed payroll SOPs, onboarding documentation, and payroll process records.

• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.

• Serve as the primary backup to the Payroll Manager during absences, and support payroll processing for Payscale's other entities as needed.

What We're Looking For

• 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.

• Knowledge of local payroll laws and regulations.

  • Government portals: BIR eFPS and eBIRForms, SSS My.SSS employer portal, PhilHealth ePRP, and the Pag-IBIG employer/Virtual Pag-IBIG portal.

• Experience with payroll software, such as ADP or Workday.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail to ensure error-free payroll processing.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting payroll operations within a multinational organization

• Knowledge of payroll controls, audits, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.
