Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably Australian/NZ payroll.
  • Knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand payroll legislation, EBAs, and awards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time, including payroll calculations, leave administration, and data maintenance.
  • Validate payroll information, timesheets, and employee records for compliance with awards, EBAs, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare payroll reports, analyze data, and assist in resolving discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of payroll records and support audits and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, HR, and stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and compliance.

Job Description:

The Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and producing payroll reports for management. The role supports payroll operations while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, enterprise agreements, company policies, and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, including payroll calculations, salary adjustments, leave administration, and payroll data maintenance.
  • Validate payroll information, timesheets, and employee records to ensure compliance with applicable awards, enterprise agreements, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare payroll reports, analyze payroll data, and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy of payroll records and systems while supporting payroll audits and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient payroll service delivery and customer support.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, compliance adherence, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • At least 2-4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably supporting Australian and/or New Zealand payroll.
  • Knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand payroll legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
