Job summary

Children's Cancer Foundation seeks a Centre Manager to lead daily operations for PALS Primary/Secondary, a transition-school programme supporting students affected by childhood cancer. You will ensure smooth running, strong support for students, and coordinated collaboration among families, educators, healthcare teams and schools.

The role emphasizes turning complex needs into clear systems, with hands-on leadership and a focus on holistic student well-being and learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Community Services, Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in centre operations, programme coordination, education, student services or services supporting children and youths.
• Experience managing a Student Care Centre or Student Care Service will be an advantage.
• Experience supporting children or youths with special educational, developmental, behavioural or medical needs will be an advantage.
• Comfortable providing classroom support, teaching support or student supervision when required.
• Strong organisational, coordination, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to create clear workflows while remaining flexible, calm and responsive when needs change.
• Warm, sensitive and respectful in supporting children, youths and families affected by serious illness.
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction, trauma-informed practices or inclusive education settings is an advantage.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations, schedules, attendance, classroom use, transport arrangements and administrative workflows
• Coordinate onsite and online learning around medical appointments, health needs and changing student circumstances
• Plan and coordinate outsourced teachers, teaching assistants, interns and volunteers according to student needs
• Arrange relief coverage and respond quickly to changes in manpower, attendance or learning arrangements
• Support recruitment, onboarding and orientation and brief personnel on relevant learning, behavioural, developmental and medical considerations
• Develop, maintain and review operational procedures, service guides and centre workflows
• Ensure key procedures are in place for infection control, emergency response, evacuation and organisational compliance
• Work with the PALS Educator to support students' daily routines, transitions and participation
• Liaise with parents and caregivers, educators, schools, healthcare teams, caseworkers, therapists, volunteers, vendors, donors and community partners
• Collaborate closely with the Social Work team, PALS Educator and multidisciplinary partners to provide coordinated student support
