Job summary

Lamoiyan Corporation is seeking a Packaging Specialist to join our engineering team in Parañaque City, Metro Manila. This full-time role focuses on developing, implementing and optimizing packaging solutions that protect our products while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-efficiency.

You will collaborate with product development, manufacturing and supply chain to drive packaging improvements, test materials, evaluate suppliers and document specifications, aiming to enhance product quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in engineering/related field.
• 3+ years in packaging design, development or QA within manufacturing.
• Knowledge of packaging materials (plastics, paper, metal, composites).
• Proficiency with packaging design software and CAD programmes.
• Understanding of packaging regulations, food safety standards and labelling requirements.
• Experience with packaging testing methodologies and QA protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop packaging solutions meeting protection and regulatory standards.
• Conduct materials testing and evaluate packaging performance and sustainability.
• Collaborate with product development, manufacturing and supply chain to implement specs and improvements.
• Analyse costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
• Prepare packaging documentation including drawings, material specs and SOPs.
• Troubleshoot packaging issues and implement corrective actions in production.

About the role

Lamoiyan Corporation is seeking a Packaging Specialist to join our engineering team in a full-time capacity based in Parañaque City, Metro Manila. This role is pivotal to ensuring that our products are packaged safely, efficiently and in compliance with all regulatory standards. As Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and optimising packaging solutions that protect our products whilst maintaining cost-effectiveness and sustainability. Your expertise will directly impact product quality, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency across our manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative packaging solutions that meet product protection requirements and regulatory compliance standards


• Conduct materials testing and evaluation to assess packaging performance, durability and sustainability


• Collaborate with product development, manufacturing and supply chain teams to implement packaging specifications and improvements


• Analyse packaging costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality or safety


• Prepare detailed packaging documentation, including technical drawings, material specifications and standard operating procedures


• Troubleshoot packaging-related issues and implement corrective actions in production environments


• Ensure all packaging solutions comply with local and international regulations, labelling requirements and industry standards


• Evaluate and source packaging materials and suppliers, negotiating terms and managing relationships


• Conduct audits and quality checks on packaging materials and finished products


• Stay updated on packaging industry innovations, emerging materials and best practices

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Packaging Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience


• 3+ years of experience in packaging design, development or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment


• Strong knowledge of packaging materials including plastics, paper, metal and composite materials


• Proficiency with packaging design software and CAD programmes


• Understanding of relevant packaging regulations, food safety standards and labelling requirements applicable to the industry


• Experience with packaging testing methodologies and quality assurance protocols


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across multiple departments


• Familiarity with sustainability principles and eco-friendly packaging solutions


• Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
