Job summary

MasTec Network Solutions is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality and safety. You will manage tasks in OFS/P2 and Smartsheet, coordinate field walkouts, prepare construction packages, and track status through closeout and billing.

The ideal candidate will have strong project coordination, organizational, and communication skills, with experience in telecommunications construction, estimating, and as-builts.

Qualifications

• Strong project coordination, organizational, and communication skills with ability to manage a high volume of projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, and project tracking systems is required; experience with OFS/P2, Smartsheet, telecommunications construction, OSP engineering, estimating, as-builts, and billing processes is preferred.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently, taking ownership from assignment through construction completion and billing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from concept to completion.
• Provide end-to-end project management support for the Genesis program, tracking tasks in OFS/P2 and Smartsheet.
• Coordinate and assign field walkouts, prepare construction packages and cost estimates, issue construction-ready work to crews, and schedule client meetings.
• Maintain project status updates, upload as-builts and closeout documentation, prepare completed projects for invoicing, and track through final billing.
• Identify aging or blocked tasks and coordinate resolutions with field personnel, providing accurate status updates to management and clients.

Responsibilities

As an Outside Plant Engineer (OPE), you will oversee projects from concept to completion.

The Outside Plant Engineer will provide end-to-end project management support for the Genesis program. Key responsibilities include tracking all assigned tasks in OFS/P2 and Smartsheet, coordinating and assigning field walkouts, preparing construction packages and cost estimates, issuing construction-ready work to crews, scheduling and participating in Microsoft Teams client meetings, maintaining project status updates, uploading as-builts and closeout documentation, preparing completed projects for invoicing, and tracking projects through final billing. The role will also identify aging or blocked tasks, coordinate resolutions with field personnel, and provide accurate status updates to management and the client.
