Job summary

PM Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented Outpatient QA Coder to join our team in the Philippines. You will review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes for inpatient encounters, while ensuring compliance with AHIMA/AAPC standards.

You will interpret physician notes and lab results, query physicians when needed, stay updated with coding changes, and collaborate with QA and audit teams to drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Active certification (CPC/CCS/CIC/CCS-P).
• 1–3 years OP QA coding experience in acute care.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and DRG assignment.
• Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems and encoder tools.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and DRG codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Interpret physician notes, lab results, and discharge summaries.
• Query physicians when documentation is unclear.
• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Stay updated with coding changes and payer guidelines.
• Collaborate with QA and audit teams for improvements.
