Qualifications

• Must have an active AAPC or AHIMA License.
• DRG Auditor should have solid IP experience with experience in DRG Auditing.
• Preferred to have someone with auditing experience.
• Amenable to work onsite (nightshift).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for abstracting, coding, and sequencing diagnoses, procedures, and treatments according to classification systems.
• Review provider documentation to determine principal diagnosis, co-morbidities, and surgical procedures.
• Assign Present on Admission (POA) values for inpatient diagnoses.
• Assign correct diagnostic related grouping (DRG) and perform coding compliance reviews.
