Job summary

Manulife / John Hancock is seeking an Operational Risk Manager to manage core elements of the risk framework across business units, collaborate with leaders, and drive effective risk controls. The role spans RCSAs, audits, incident reviews, and remediation reporting in a hybrid work arrangement.

You will develop metrics, dashboards, and management reporting while engaging with senior stakeholders to sustain a strong control environment.

Qualifications

• University graduate with five to eight years of experience in operational risk management, operational controls, internal controls, audit, or related governance.
• Solid understanding of core insurance operational processes.
• Experience in a global or regional role is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute core elements of the Operational Risk Management Framework across assigned units and functions.
• Support Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and identify key risks and controls.
• Lead audit engagements by coordinating with business leads and collecting audit evidence.
• Address audit findings, develop corrective action plans, and track remediation within timelines.
• Test high-risk processes, document results, and propose practical, risk-based controls.
• Maintain awareness of risk issues from incidents, testing, and audits.
• Build relationships with leaders and present risk information to senior audiences.
• Support projects and changes ensuring risks and controls are addressed.
• Develop risk metrics, dashboards, and management reporting to monitor exposure.
