Job summary

Smartsourcing is hiring a Junior Bookkeeper to manage end-to-end accounting tasks onsite in Cebu City. You will handle invoices, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with standards and deadlines.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field, 4+ years in bookkeeping, payroll experience, and proficiency with MYOB/Xero/QuickBooks/SAP and Excel. CPA/CA advantageous; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

• Hands-on payroll experience required
• CPA/CA certifications are advantageous
• Experience with MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP or similar software; Excel
• Understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Process supplier and client invoices
• Manage AP/AR ledgers and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances
• Process daily bank transactions
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Monitor and track cash flow movements
• Prepare financial and management reports
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support financial analysis and reporting requirements
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records
• Ensure transactions are properly classified and recorded
• Support compliance with accounting standards and reporting deadlines
• Maintain accounting systems and financial data
• Support process improvements and workflow efficiency
• Assist with finance-related system updates and tasks
• Communicate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve financial queries
• Ensure clear and timely communication across stakeholders
• Use approved AI and digital tools in line with data privacy standards
• Validate AI outputs and apply professional judgment
• Complete required AI training and identify automation opportunities
