Job summary

Maya Philippines is seeking a Governance Lead to strengthen compliance, risk management, and controls across Maya Philippines and Maya Bank. The role emphasizes monitoring risk, regulatory alignment, and improving control environments within a growing fintech ecosystem.

You will conduct regular governance reviews, address audit findings, and coordinate with stakeholders to protect the company from exposures while enabling bold financial choices for customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in compliance/governance; FinTech experience preferred.
• Exposure to control environment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular governance related controls and monitoring.
• Ensure controls are in place or being improved.
• Address and monitor audit findings.
• Deactivate non-compliant partners and handle properly.
• Ensure due diligence for high-risk customers is completed.
• Identify emerging trends to bypass active controls.
• Monitor AML, fraud, promo gaming, and related KPIs.
• Review business decisions and provide inputs for improvements.
• Assess appropriateness of business model, product design and market practices.
• Coordinate periodic risk and control self assessments (RCSA).

Overview

Governance Lead supports all businesses of Maya Philippines and the Bank in achieving group-wide targets while ensuring compliance to internal and external regulations and requirements to protect the company from unwanted risk and exposures. The role entails management and monitoring of key segments of the Operations while working on managing risk, gap analysis and reporting to relevant stakeholders.

What you will do

• Conduct regular reviews on Governance related controls and monitoring
• Ensure proper controls are in place or being worked on for necessary improvements
• Ensure all audit findings are properly addressed and monitored
• Regular monitoring that non-compliant partners are deactivated and with proper handling
• Ensure enhanced due diligence and/or closure of identified high risk consumers are in place
• Identify emerging trends to bypass active controls
• Monitor key performance indices and triggers on AML, fraud, promo gaming, etc.
• Review and monitor business decisions, plans or initiatives and provide relevant inputs for improvements
• Review appropriateness of business model, product design and business or market practices
• Assist/monitor completion of business units’ periodic risk and control self assessment (RCSA)

What we are looking for

• Have at least 6 years of experience in compliance/governance related tasks, preferably in FinTech
• Exposure to control environment and processes
