Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Baker to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will prepare a variety of bakery items, following standardized recipes, while upholding the highest food-safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires maintaining clean work areas and assisting with bakery operations to ensure consistent service. Must have at least 1 year of baking experience, high school diploma, and ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year baking experience in a full-service or institutional setting.
• Current ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow standardized recipes.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Must possess valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Ability to obtain visas and meet deployment medical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, desserts, and other bakery products according to recipes and schedules.
• Maintain bakery safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
• Measure, weigh, and adjust ingredients for consistency.
• Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Record daily production and food waste for inventory control.
• Complete cleaning schedules and maintain documentation.
• Ensure production supports the next shift and uninterrupted service.
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
