Job summary

Lean Solutions Group (LSG) is seeking an Ocean Import Logistics Specialist to join our global operations. You will manage high-volume ocean import tasks, ensure shipments arrive on time and compliant, and work across teams to keep supply chains running smoothly.

The role requires 1–3 years in freight forwarding or international logistics, a high school diploma (associate/bachelor a plus), solid knowledge of ocean import workflows and MS Office, and familiarity with CargoWise or similar TMS.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor in Supply Chain/Logistics/Business is a plus.
• 1–3 years in freight forwarding, international logistics, ocean import/export, or supply chain operations.
• Solid understanding of ocean import workflows, international freight docs, and tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail, time-management, and multitasking under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and quick learning for new logistics software.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily ocean import tasks in line with SOPs.
• Track and update milestones, ETAs/ETDs, vessel schedules, and status in the TMS.
• Prepare and share Arrival Notices within SLAs, flag delays or exceptions.
• Validate carrier charges, manage payments, and assist with customs exams/diversions.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Accounting, Compliance, and Operations.
• Cross-train across ocean import functions and learn new processes.

Role Overview

As an Ocean Import Logistics Specialist, you will be at the heart of our international supply chain operations. You will manage task-based, high-volume ocean import processes to ensure shipments arrive accurately, on time, and fully compliant. What You Will Do

• Manage Shipment Operations: Execute daily ocean import tasks accurately and efficiently in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Track & Update Milestones: Maintain real-time shipment data, including ETAs, ETDs, vessel schedules, and status changes in our Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and distribute Arrival Notices to clients within strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs), proactively reporting any delays or operational exceptions.
• Coordinate Payments & Customs: Validate carrier freight charges, process payment requirements, and track shipments undergoing customs examinations or operational diversions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Accounting, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end shipment execution.
• Continuous Learning: Expand your impact by cross-training across multiple ocean import functions and mastering new operational processes.

What You Bring (Required)

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business is a plus).
• Experience: 1–3 years in freight forwarding, international logistics, ocean import/export, or supply chain operations.
• Logistics Knowledge: Solid understanding of ocean import workflows, international freight documentation, and tracking systems.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and the ability to multitask effectively under tight deadlines.
• Tech Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and a fast learning curve for new logistics software.

Nice-to-Haves

• Direct experience working in a freight forwarding environment.
• Hands-on experience with CargoWise or similar Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Background managing Arrival Notices, carrier payment processing, customs holds, or vessel diversions.
