As an Air Import Logistics Specialist, you will be at the heart of our international supply chain operations. You will manage task-based, high-volume air import processes to ensure shipments arrive accurately, on time, and fully compliant. Manage Shipment Operations: Execute daily air import tasks accurately and efficiently in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Track & Update Milestones: Maintain real-time shipment data, including ETAs, ETDs, flight schedules, and status changes in our Transportation Management System (TMS).
Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and distribute Arrival Notices and Air Waybill (AWB) documentation to clients within strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs), proactively reporting any delays or operational exceptions.
Coordinate Payments & Customs: Validate airline/carrier freight charges, process payment requirements, and track shipments undergoing customs examinations, TSA clearances, or airline storage/demurrage holds.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Accounting, Compliance, Air Cargo Operations, and ground transport teams to ensure seamless end-to-end shipment execution.
Continuous Learning: Expand your impact by cross-training across multiple air import functions and mastering new operational processes.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business is a plus).
Experience: 1–3 years in freight forwarding, international logistics, air import/export, or supply chain operations.
Logistics Knowledge: Solid understanding of air import workflows, international freight documentation (MAWB, HAWB), and flight tracking systems.
Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and the ability to multitask effectively under tight deadlines.
Tech Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and a fast learning curve for new logistics software.
Direct experience working in an air freight forwarding environment.
Hands-on experience with CargoWise or similar Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Background managing Arrival Notices, air carrier payment processing, customs holds, TSA regulations, or airport transfer logistics.
