Job summary

RELX is seeking an experienced leader to supervise the Cloud Observability Engineering and ServiceNow Administration/Development teams. You will set priorities, recruit and coach staff, and remove blockers to ensure timely project delivery across observability and ITSM platforms.

You will oversee strategy and operations for observability platforms (Coralogix, Quickwit, CloudWatch), promote OpenTelemetry usage, and guide context propagation for accurate distributed tracing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Experience supervising or leading a technical team (observability/SRE/ITSM).
• Solid knowledge of observability: metrics, traces, logs, and context propagation for distributed tracing.
• Solid knowledge of cloud technology concepts.
• Familiarity with observability platforms such as Coralogix, Quickwit, and CloudWatch.
• Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry concepts and instrumentation practices.
• Understanding of cloud technologies, containers, and Kubernetes to guide engineering decisions.
• Understanding of cardinality and its impact on telemetry systems, cost, and performance.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow administration/development concepts (ITSM/ITOM).
• Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the Cloud Observability Eng team and the ServiceNow Admin/Dev team, setting priorities and assigning work.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop team members; conduct performance reviews and support career growth.
• Act as the primary escalation point for both teams, removing blockers and ensuring timely delivery of initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across both disciplines.
• Represent teams in planning, budgeting, roadmap, and vendor discussions.
• Report on team performance and platform health to leadership.
