Job summary

EviSmart is seeking an Incident Commander to own night operations for Autopilot’s platform. You’ll serve as the primary incident owner from after-hours until daytime teams join, ensuring rapid, safe fixes and consistent processes across shifts.

You’ll also mentor a night backup, coordinate with DevOps, and maintain service reliability above 99% while communicating clearly with customer-facing teams during incidents.

Qualifications

• Experience as an individual contributor in technical support or incident response (SaaS/platform operations).
• Ability to own incidents at night and operate without direct supervision.
• Proficient in reviewing logs, restarting services, and issuing safe first fixes.
• Able to teach and delegate to a peer effectively, even without formal management authority.
• Clear, calm communicator updating customer-facing teams during live incidents.

Responsibilities

• Own incident command at night and drive incidents to resolution.
• Monitor platform health across modules day and night.
• Ensure cross-shift consistency by aligning night and day processes and tools.
• Train and empower a night backup to handle triage and tasks.
• Collaborate with DevOps to keep infrastructure stable and improve tooling.
• Know when to escalate and who to call for rare, complex cases.
