Job summary

Centrics Networks in Cebu City seeks a Network Security Engineer to plan, design, and implement secure client networks, onsite or remote. CCNA certification and 3+ years of relevant experience are required.

You will install/configure security devices, document topologies, monitor for threats, and respond to incidents. After-hours rotation and vendor training are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related IT field.
• Strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant network experience.
• CCNA certification is required.
• Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, and Sophos security solutions.
• Experience with Cisco, HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Dell, and Ruckus networking equipment is a plus.
• Willing to work after hours during migrations.
• Strong communication and independent work skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Responsible for planning, designing, and implementing network security solutions that meet client requirements, whether onsite or remotely.
• Responsible for installing and configuring network & security devices such as routers, firewalls, switches, wireless controllers, access points, etc.
• Responsible to document network configurations, including IP addresses, network topologies, and hardware and software versions.
• Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and configuration changes.
• Perform daily monitoring for network infrastructure and security issues using network management tools and systems.
• Monitor network security events and respond to potential threats.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, diagnose problems, and take corrective actions to minimize network disruptions.
• Investigate network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with other teams to resolve network and security issues, ensuring resolution within SLA.
• Escalate critical incidents to higher-level support or specialized teams as needed and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive records of network incidents, changes, and resolutions for future reference and reporting.
• A member of a team of engineers that performs 24x7 standby duties on a rotational basis.
• Handle after office hours escalation, if necessary, either onsite or remote.
• Required to attend vendor-sponsored training to ensure that product knowledge and skills are always updated.

• Experience in Networking solutions such as Cisco, HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Dell, and Ruckus is an advantage.
• Willing to work after normal office hours during migration windows and project implementations.
• Able to communicate confidently and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
