Job summary

Universal Access and Systems Solutions Inc. is seeking a Solutions Engineer (Security) to lead end-to-end deployment, configuration, validation, and support of enterprise cybersecurity solutions for customers.

You will work closely with Project Managers, technology partners, and customer stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable, and standards-aligned implementations across multi-vendor environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/college degree in ECE, Computer Engineering, CS, IT, or related field.
  • At least 1 year hands-on experience deploying, administering, or troubleshooting security solutions.
  • Experience in enterprise or multi-vendor environments is an advantage.
  • Fortinet NSE 4/5, CCNP Security, or Cisco Specialist certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and optimize security solutions per designs.
  • Deploy NGFW, UTM, email security gateways, web security, cloud security, and NAC.
  • Create and maintain CRD, HLD/LLD, MOP, network plans, and as-built docs.
  • Design, validate, test (HAT/UAT), and handover completed projects.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support, diagnose issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with PMs, partners, and vendor engineers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Engage customers to gather requirements, provide guidance, and transfer knowledge.

Job description

The Solutions Engineer (Security) is responsible for the end-to-end deployment, configuration, validation, and technical support of enterprise cybersecurity solutions for customers. This role plays a key part in ensuring that customer environments are secure, scalable, and aligned with best practices and industry standards.

The Solutions Engineer works closely with Project Managers, technology partners, and customer stakeholders to deliver high-quality implementations across a multi-vendor environment.

1. Solution Implementation & Deployment
  • Implement, configure, and optimize enterprise security solutions based on customer requirements and approved designs
  • Deploy a wide range of cybersecurity technologies, including but not limited to:
  • Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)
  • Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems
  • Email security gateways
  • Web security and secure web gateways
  • Cloud security solutions
  • Network Access Control (NAC) systems
  • Ensure proper integration of security solutions into existing customer infrastructure
  • Follow established implementation standards, procedures, and best practices
2. Technical Documentation
  • Develop, maintain, and present detailed technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including:
  • Customer Requirements Document (CRD)
  • High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents
  • Methods of Procedure (MOP)
  • Network Implementation Plans
  • Network Migration and Rollback Plans
  • As-built Documentation
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with customer expectations and internal standards
3. Testing, Validation & Handover
  • Design, execute, and document system validation and acceptance testing activities
  • Conduct and present results for:
  • Hardware Acceptance Testing (HAT)
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Validate that implemented solutions meet performance, security, and functional requirements
  • Facilitate customer acceptance and formal handover of completed projects
4. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support during implementation and post-deployment phases
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving security infrastructure, system integration, and network behavior
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Support incident resolution and escalation when needed
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and status updates
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including pre-sales, support, and vendor engineers
  • Ensure adherence to project scope, timelines, and quality standards
  • Work with leading security vendors and principals, including but not limited to:
  • Cisco
  • Fortinet
  • Collaborate with vendor technical teams for solution deployment, escalation, and issue resolution
  • Stay updated on new features, product releases, and emerging cybersecurity trends
7. Customer Engagement & Knowledge Transfer
  • Engage directly with customers to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and address concerns
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts, risks, and recommendations
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions, walkthroughs, and basic training for customer IT teams
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s/College Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in deploying, administering, or troubleshooting security solutions
  • Experience working in enterprise or multi-vendor environments is an advantage
Certifications (Preferred)
  • Fortinet NSE 4 / NSE 5
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional – Security (CCNP Security)
  • Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Core
  • Other relevant cybersecurity certifications are a plus
Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of security solutions from Cisco, Fortinet, or equivalent vendors
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, NAT, ACLs)
  • Endpoint and perimeter security
  • Basic cloud security principles
  • TCP/IP, routing, and switching fundamentals
  • Familiarity with enterprise security architectures and best practices
