The Senior Network Engineer (Operations & Deployment Lead) is responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing the company's enterprise network infrastructure nationwide. This role ensures high availability, rapid issue resolution, and consistent deployment of network technologies, while working closely with the Network Lead to implement scalable and secure designs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deployment and Implementation
- Lead deployment of: Network devices (firewalls, switches, APs)
- SD-WAN configurations across multiple sites
- Ensure deployments follow approved standards and configurations
- Conduct onsite visits nationwide for critical issue resolution and rollout support
2. Network Operations & Administration
- Administer and maintain: Firewalls (FortiGate)
- Switches and Access Points (Cisco, Ruckus, CradlePoint, TP-Link UniFi)
- Monitor and manage SD-WAN environments (CradlePoint and Fortinet)
- Ensure network uptime and performance optimization across all sites
3. Network Security
- Implement and enforce network security policies and standards
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
4. Risk Management
- Identify and assess potential risks to data center operations.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
5. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Monitor network health and performance metrics
- Produce:
- Weekly and monthly service reports
- Incident and root cause analysis reports
- Maintain:
- Network configurations
- Procedures and troubleshooting documentation
6. Incident Management & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the primary escalation point for network-related incidents
- Troubleshoot and resolve:
- Connectivity issues
- Hardware failures
- Performance degradation
- Coordinate with NOC and Service Desk to ensure timely resolution
7. Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring network issues and implement long-term solutions
- Recommend improvements in:
- Network performance
- Reliability
- Operational efficiency
8. Cross-Functional Support
- Provide technical support to:
- Internal IT teams
- Business units
- Assist in network upgrade projects and initiatives
- Present technical updates and proposals to stakeholders when required
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering or any related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years experience in network engineering / administration
- Strong multi-vendor networking expertise (Cisco, Fortinet, Ruckus, UniFi)
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience in multi-site / nationwide network environments
- Knowledge of SD-WAN and WAN technologies
- Strong vendor and ISP coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle critical incidents
- Good communication and documentation skills
