Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines seeks a Tier 1 Network Operations Engineer to monitor client networks, manage incidents and service requests across WAN, LAN, wireless, firewall, and data center systems.

You will ensure uptime through proactive monitoring, follow documented procedures, coordinate maintenance and changes, and communicate complex technical details to diverse audiences while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Active CCNA certification required.
• 2–3 years experience in network engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong understanding of the Network OSI model and TCP/IP Protocol Suite.
• Solid understanding of IP Networking technologies (IPv4 and IPv6).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP dynamic routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE, NX-OS, PANOS and F5 Big IP.
• Knowledge of enterprise data circuit types (MPLS, P2P, Internet, DWDM, Metro Ethernet, SD-WAN).
• Strong knowledge of LAN technologies and virtualization/segmentation (VLAN, VPN, VRF, VXLAN, SDN).
• Excellent documentation skills for KBs, Runbooks, SOPs and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Respond to events using documented procedures and guidance from senior engineers.
• Create and manage incident tickets throughout their lifecycle.
• Provide hands-on support across routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and wireless devices.
• Participate in technical bridge calls with clear, concise input during incidents and escalations.
• Utilize tools to diagnose incidents and support troubleshooting efforts.
• Open, track, and follow up on vendor cases related to active incidents.
• Perform routine maintenance and implement scheduled changes per procedures.
• Contribute to event/alert threshold tuning activities.
• Ensure incidents and service requests are updated and resolved within SLA timelines.
• Create and update KBs, runbooks, and diagrams.
