The NOC Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting an organization's network infrastructure and IT systems to ensure maximum uptime and service availability. The role involves proactive monitoring, incident response, performance analysis, and escalation of network-related issues.
Monitor network performance, servers, applications, and telecommunications systems 24/7.
Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents and outages.
Respond to alarms and alerts generated by monitoring tools.
Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate teams or vendors.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for network and system failures.
Create and maintain incident reports and operational documentation.
Manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
Support WAN, LAN, VPN, Internet, and cloud connectivity services.
Implement network configuration changes according to change management procedures.
Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
Provide technical support during planned maintenance and system upgrades.
Maintain accurate inventory of network equipment and software assets.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or related field.
Associate degree or relevant technical certification may be considered.
Entry-Level NOC Engineer:
2-3 years of IT or network support experience.
Mid-Level NOC Engineer:
3-5 years of network operations experience.
Senior NOC Engineer:
5+ years of advanced network troubleshooting and administration experience.
