Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines seeks a Senior Network Engineer (Security) to lead the implementation of enterprise security solutions, including next-generation firewalls, secure access, endpoint protection, SSE/SASE platforms, and zero-trust architectures.

The role also mentors Solutions Engineers, reviews technical deliverables, and acts as a multi-vendor SME for Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cato Networks, driving project success from planning to handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience deploying, administering, or troubleshooting security solutions with leadership in full-cycle projects.
• At least one Professional-level certification (Core + Specialization) in the assigned technology or principal vendor, plus training from at least two principal vendors in Security.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end security project implementations, including planning, surveys, configuration, installation, testing, troubleshooting, support, and knowledge transfer.
• Own project cost, schedule, and quality for assigned engagements.
• Create and present client-facing technical documentation (HAT, CRD, LLD, MOP, NIP, NMP, UAT, as-built) and knowledge transfer decks.
• Review and quality-check documentation produced by Solutions Engineers prior to submission.
• Mentor and coach Solutions Engineers toward Professional-level certifications and L2 competency.
• Serve as multi-vendor security SME with proficiency in Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cato Networks.
• Resolve escalations beyond L1 engineering support.
• Drive continuous learning through certifications and knowledge base updates.

Job description

The Senior Network Engineer (Security) leads the implementation of security solutions for enterprise clients, covering next-generation firewalls, secure access solutions (ClearPass/ISE), endpoint security, SSE/SASE platforms, and zero-trust architectures. The role also mentors Solutions Engineers within the same specialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project implementation for security engagements, including planning, site surveys, configuration, installation, testing, troubleshooting, support, and knowledge transfer.
• Take direct ownership of project cost, schedule, and quality for assigned engagements.
• Lead the creation and presentation of client-facing technical documentation, including HAT, CRD, LLD, MOP, NIP, NMP, UAT, as-built documentation, and knowledge transfer decks.
• Review and quality-check documentation produced by Solutions Engineers prior to submission.
• Mentor and coach Solutions Engineers by providing on-the-job guidance, technical reviews, and constructive feedback that accelerate their development toward Professional-level certifications and L2 competency.
• Serve as the team's multi-vendor technical subject matter expert for security solutions, with proficiency in at least two principal vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cato Networks).
• Resolve escalations that cannot be addressed by L1 engineers.
• Drive continuous learning by pursuing Professional-level certifications, developing additional product and technology specializations, and contributing to UAS's knowledge base, runbooks, and best-practice documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or an equivalent field.
• Three to four years of experience deploying, administering, or troubleshooting security solutions, with demonstrated leadership in full-cycle project implementations.
• At least one Professional-level certification (Core + Specialization) in the assigned technology or principal vendor, along with training from at least two different principal vendors within the Security domain.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in at least two principal vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cato Networks).
• Experience in full-cycle project implementations.
• Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.

Preferred Skills

• Two Professional-level certifications from different principal vendors in Security (e.g., CCNP Security, Fortinet NSE 5/7, Check Point CCSE, or Cato Networks SSE Expert + Specialization).
• Engineers who achieve Subject Matter Expert (SME) status through two to three Professional-level certifications and active mentorship responsibilities may qualify for higher salary brackets under the L2 Job Matrix.
• Additional experience or exposure to Palo Alto Networks, HPE Aruba ClearPass, Sophos, and other enterprise security platforms.
