Job summary

Suniway Group of Companies Inc. in Metro Manila is seeking a network engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust LAN/WAN infrastructure. You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and firewall rules, while ensuring security and scalability.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. CCNA is desirable; experience with Cisco/Huawei/Ruijie vendors is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing & switching, LAN/WAN technologies and security fundamentals.
• Experience configuring and supporting network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
• CCNA or equivalent is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and deploy network infrastructure including LAN/WAN connectivity, routing, switching, and firewall solutions.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Implementation

• Plan, design, and deploy network infrastructure including LAN/WAN connectivity, routing, switching, and firewall solutions.

• Implement network segmentation and access policies (e.g., VLANs, ACLs, 802.1X where applicable).

• Configure VPN connectivity (site-to-site and/or remote access).

Network Operations & Maintenance

• Configure, maintain, and upgrade routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Perform firmware updates, patching, and lifecycle management of network devices.

• Ensure backup/restore of configurations and standardization of baseline configs.

Monitoring & Performance

• Proactively monitor network performance, bandwidth, and uptime to ensure reliability.

• Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements for stability and scalability.

Security & Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot network issues (connectivity, latency, packet loss, VLAN/routing problems).

• Manage firewall rules, VPN policies, and security hardening in line with best practices.

• Support incident response and root cause analysis (RCA) when needed.

Documentation & Support

• Maintain network diagrams, IP addressing plans, inventory, and configuration documentation.

• Prepare reports and updates for stakeholders.

• Provide technical support and coordinate with vendors/ISPs when required.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing & switching, LAN/WAN technologies, and security fundamentals.

• Experience configuring and supporting network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).

Vendor Exposure (Any of the following is a plus)

• Familiarity with Cisco, Huawei, Ruijie (or similar enterprise networking vendors).

Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)

• CCNA or equivalent is desirable, but not required.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Can work independently and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users.

• Organized with good documentation habits.
