Job summary

Ibex Limited in Manila is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Network Engineer with a strong Cisco Security focus to join our IT Infrastructure team. You will have 4–6 years of hands-on experience maintaining networks, configuring firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, and security policies, and you will troubleshoot complex issues while documenting designs and standards.

Job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Network Engineer with a strong focus on Cisco Security to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate has 4 to 6 years of hands‑on experience maintaining network operations, configuring firewalls, and securing IT environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of our systems by implementing security policies and troubleshooting network issues.

Responsibilities

• Device Management: Configure, install, and manage Cisco network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Security Implementation: Enforce network security protocols, including configuring VPNs, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and NAT rules.
• Incident Response & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve Tier-2/3 network issues, identify security incidents, and assist with root cause analysis.
• System Maintenance: Perform routine network maintenance, firmware upgrades, and security patch management on Cisco and related security hardware.
• Monitoring & Auditing: Monitor network performance, track security alerts, and run audits to identify vulnerabilities.
• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configuration backups, and security policies.

Qualifications

• 4 to 5 years with WAN protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), LAN/WLAN (DNS, IP Addressing, QoS, Spanning Tree, Multicast), Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco ISR/ASR routers.
• Intermediate problem resolution knowledge of hardware/software platform problems in complex, layered, network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of NG-Firewalls (Multi-vendor, Cisco ASA, FTD, Palo Alto, Fortigate), Security products/practices ACLs, Firewalls, VPN, etc.
• Proactive monitoring (Solarwinds, PRTG) of 1000+ devices network and knowledge of NMS/Syslog monitoring. alerting and escalations.
• Intermediate knowledge of network systems design principles and standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate project level presentations to business sponsors.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems.
• Ability to draft and document designs and standards.
• Project experience implementing core infrastructure, networking and cloud based services for business teams or consumers
• Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA/ Palo Alto (Firewall), Fortinet Wireless, Solar Winds and/or other Network Management utilities
• Strong NG-Firewalls Experience (Multi-vendor, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortigate)
• SDN/SD-WAN, Security products/practices ACLs, Firewalls, VPN, etc.
• Experience working in a large enterprise environment (1000+ devices)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate project level presentations to business sponsors.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems.
• Ability to draft and document designs and standards.
• Familiar with 24x7 operational and rotational NOC based shifts.
