Job summary

Centrics Networks in Cebu City is seeking a Network & Security Engineer to plan, design, and implement network and security solutions on site or remotely. You will install and configure devices, document configurations, and perform routine maintenance while monitoring for threats and incidents.

The role requires CCNA, 1 year of experience, and strong troubleshooting with the ability to work after-hours during migrations and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT, or related disciplines.
• CCNA certification is required.
• 1 year of relevant network-related experience required.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and SD-WAN.
• Willing to work after hours during migrations and project implementations.
• Able to communicate confidently and troubleshoot independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement network and security solutions onsite or remotely.
• Install and configure network & security devices (routers, firewalls, switches, wireless controllers).
• Document network configurations, including IPs, topologies, versions.
• Perform routine network maintenance: firmware updates, patch management, config changes.
• Daily monitoring for network infrastructure and security issues using tools.
• Monitor security events and respond to potential threats.
• Diagnose problems, escalate incidents, and minimize disruptions per SLA.
• Escalate critical incidents to higher-level teams as needed.
• Maintain records of incidents, changes, and resolutions for reporting.
• Rotational 24x7 standby duties; handle after-hours escalation onsite or remote.
• Attend vendor-sponsored training to keep product knowledge updated.

Job description

• Responsible for planning, designing, and implementing network and security solutions that meet client requirements, whether onsite or remotely.
• Responsible for installing and configuring network & security devices such as routers, firewalls, switches, wireless controllers, access points, etc.
• Responsible to document network configurations, including IP addresses, network topologies, and hardware and software versions.
• Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and configuration changes.
• Perform daily monitoring for network infrastructure and security issues using network management tools and systems.
• Monitor network security events and respond to potential threats.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, diagnose problems, and take corrective actions to minimize network disruptions.
• Investigate network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with other teams to resolve network and security issues, ensuring resolution within SLA.
• Escalate critical incidents to higher-level support or specialized teams as needed and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive records of network incidents, changes, and resolutions for future reference and reporting.
• A member of a team of engineers that performs 24x7 standby duties on a rotational basis.
• Handle after office hours escalation, if necessary, either onsite or remote.
• Required to attend vendor-sponsored training to ensure that product knowledge and skills are always updated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or other IT-related courses.
• Strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SDWAN)
• A minimum of 1 years of relevant experience in network-related roles is required for this position.
• CCNA certification is required.
• Experience in Networking Security solutions such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and Sophos is an advantage.
• Experience in Networking solutions such as Cisco, HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Dell, and Ruckus is an advantage.
• Willing to work after normal office hours during migration windows and project implementations.
• Able to communicate confidently and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
