Job summary

Octal Philippines Incorporated is seeking a senior network engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networks. You will design, implement, and validate network solutions across Cisco, Juniper, and Huawei technologies, leading complex transformations and ensuring performance, security, and compliance.

You will mentor a team, manage 24/7 on-call rotations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay current with cutting-edge cloud networking and SD-WAN practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field; 10+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
• At least 2 years leading a network engineering team.
• Extensive experience with Cisco/Juniper/Huawei networking technologies.
• Current Cisco/Juniper certification (e.g., CCNP, CISSP, PMP).
• Strong routing protocols knowledge (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLAN, VPN, QoS, MPLS).
• Solid network security knowledge (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
• Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred; scripting (Python, Ansible) a bonus.
• SD-WAN experience and data center tech exposure highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete lifecycle support for enterprise network assets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
• Design and implement enterprise-wide network solutions.
• Lead transformations, migrate initiatives and SD-WAN/cloud connectivity work.
• Develop and maintain network security frameworks and documentation.

A senior network engineer with 10+ years relevant experience in network management. Solid understanding of top vendors (Cisco, Huawei, Juniper) hardware offering. Network design and validation. CORE maintenance, configuration, troubleshoot. Performance analysis and enhancement. Network security. Systems integration. Strong communications skills in English, team player. Willingness to travel for projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide complete lifecycle support for enterprise network assets
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve hardware, software and network issues
• Design and implement enterprise-wide network solutions
• Legacy LAN, WAN integration and current SD-WAN and cloud connectivity technologies
• Lead large complex network transformation projects and migration initiatives
• Develop and maintain network security frameworks adhering to industry best practices
• Create and maintain network documentation, policies and procedures
• At times participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical network issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network capabilities with project objectives
• Work with client representatives to best address current network requirements and cyber related issues
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards
• Manage and mentor a team of network engineers
• Stay updated and conduct training with employees on network security threats

Requirements:

• Bachelors or higher degree in relevant field
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering
• 2+ years leading a network engineering team
• Extensive experience with Cisco/Juniper/Huawei networking technologies
• Current Cisco/Juniper certification (e.g. CCNP, CISSP, PMP)
• Extensive experience with networking routing protocols and technologies
• (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLAN, VPN, QoS, CG-NAT, PPPoe, MPLS, SDH, xDSL)
• Strong knowledge of network security principles and technologies
• (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs)
• Ability and willingness to acquire new certifications as required
