Job summary

Karnot Energy Solutions Inc is seeking a hands-on Installation & Service Technician to install, commission and service Karnot R290 heat pumps and CO2 refrigeration systems across Luzon and Visayas. You will perform brazing, leak testing, and fault diagnosis on site, with safety protocols and training provided.

The role involves ~70% field work with on-site travel; eligibility includes TESDA NC III and 3+ years in commercial refrigeration or AC installation. A driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• TESDA NC III in PACU/CRE (Plant Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration / Commercial Refrigeration Equipment) — verifiable on tesda.gov.ph.
• 3 or more years experience in commercial refrigeration or air-conditioning installation and service.
• Demonstrated brazing competence for refrigerant pipework (silver brazing, nitrogen purging).
• Proficient with manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, and electronic leak detectors.
• Basic electrical competence — reading wiring diagrams, voltage checks, motor connections.
• Driver's licence preferred (site-to-site travel is required).

Responsibilities

• Install Karnot heat pump and refrigeration equipment on commercial sites — mechanical mounting, pipework, electrical connections per drawing.
• Perform system commissioning: leak test, vacuum procedure, refrigerant charging, controls setup, and performance verification.
• Carry out planned maintenance visits per service schedule on live installations.
• Diagnose and repair faults on R290 heat pumps, CO₂ refrigeration, and heat pump water heaters.
• Silver-braze refrigerant pipework to EN 14276 standard for pressure equipment.
• Operate manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, and electronic refrigerant leak detectors safely.
• Complete job sheets, commissioning reports, and service records in Karnot's system after every visit.
• Follow all R290 safe-handling procedures — no naked flames near R290 plant rooms, ventilation check before entry, personal gas monitor worn during charging.

Department Installation & Service Reports To Senior ME (PME) Headcount 6 heads The Role Install, commission and service Karnot R290 heat pumps and CO₂ refrigeration systems across Luzon and Visayas. Brazing, vacuum, pressure-testing, refrigerant charging, fault diagnosis. Hands-on, field-based work. R290 (propane) and CO₂ are natural refrigerants with Global Warming Potentials of 3 and 1 respectively — the best available refrigerants for the climate. Working with them requires specific training because natural refrigerant systems use a different engineering approach to legacy HFCs. Karnot invests in that training for every technician: UN-accredited hydrocarbon refrigerant training (EN 378 / IEC 60335-2-40 aligned) is fully funded and provided as part of onboarding. You will leave Karnot with qualifications most refrigeration technicians in the Philippines do not have. Salary ranges from ₱28,000 to ₱35,000 depending on experience, with per-diem paid for every site travel day. The role involves approximately 70% field work across project sites.
