Job summary

Amentum is hiring a qualified MQ-9 CLS Technician to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics and Ground Control Station systems. The role demands advanced electrical knowledge, documentation in logs, and leadership to guide junior technicians.

The position requires an active Secret clearance, ability to travel, and proficiency with NALCOMIS, IMDS and OOMA. Expect complex problem solving and adherence to military standards.

Qualifications

• Active Secret US Government clearance required.
• US Citizenship required for clearance.
• High School Diploma or relevant military/vocational training.
• Minimum 1 year aircraft avionics and Ground Control Station (GCS) maintenance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of electronics maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of RFF systems, components and accessories.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables.
• IA T Level II equivalent certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to inspect and operate ground support equipment.
• Must maintain English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
• SF-86 updates within 30 days of hire.
• Current State driver's license.
• Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS deployments.
• Meet deployment criteria including pre-deployment medical screening.

Responsibilities

• Maintain UAS electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators and circuit breakers.
• Troubleshoot multiple electronics systems on aircraft and ground control stations.
• Solve complex problems beyond manufacturers’ manuals using advanced circuit analysis and test instruments.
• Document entries in aircraft logs and records; participate in QA and shift meetings.
• Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior technicians during modifications and maintenance.
• Sign off work in NALCOMIS, OOMA or IMDS as required.
• Apply CNAFINST 4790.2 and related procedures; implement engineering changes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and compliant operations.
