Vicente T. Lao Construction in General Santos City, South Cotabato, seeks a licensed Mechanical Engineer for a Motorpool Supervisor role.

This full-time position oversees vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and logistics for our construction fleet, ensuring equipment readiness and safety for field teams. You will lead motorpool operations, coordinate preventive maintenance, manage drivers, and liaise with project managers to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in motorpool management or fleet supervision.
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer credential.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and servicing procedures.
• Experience managing fleets in construction or related industries.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills with fleet systems.
• Understanding of safety regulations for vehicle operation.
• Leadership experience supervising staff.
• Good communication with drivers, contractors and project teams.
• Problem-solving skills for equipment breakdowns.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily motorpool operations, including vehicle allocation, maintenance schedules, and fuel management.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programmes and ensure all vehicles undergo regular servicing and inspections.
• Monitor vehicle condition and arrange repairs with external contractors when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, mileage and repair costs.
• Manage driver schedules and coordinate vehicle assignments for construction project requirements.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks to ensure all equipment meets safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee inventory management of spare parts, lubricants and other motorpool consumables.
• Train and supervise motorpool staff and drivers on vehicle operation, maintenance and safety protocols.
• Liaise with project managers to anticipate vehicle and equipment needs for upcoming construction activities.
• Prepare reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs and operational efficiency for management review.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations regarding vehicle registration, insurance and roadworthiness.

About the role

Vicente T. Lao Construction is seeking an experienced and licensed Mechanical Engineer for Motorpool Supervisor to join our team in General Santos City, South Cotabato. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. What we're looking for

• Minimum 1 year experience in motorpool management, fleet supervision or heavy equipment maintenance

• Licensed Mechanical Engineer

• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, mechanical systems and equipment servicing procedures

• Proven experience managing vehicle fleets in construction or related industries

• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills with proficiency in fleet management systems

• Sound understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements for vehicle operation and maintenance

• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising and training staff members

• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with drivers, contractors and project teams

• Problem-solving capability and ability to manage equipment breakdowns and operational challenges

• Valid driver's licence and clean driving record

• Experience with construction equipment and specialised vehicles is highly desirable
