Mike Steel Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced Motorpool Manager to oversee the fleet, equipment, drivers, and overall motorpool operations. You will supervise drivers, mechanics, and operators, ensuring safe, reliable, and well-documented vehicle performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years in motorpool, fleet, or equipment management, preferably in construction.
Experience with heavy equipment, trucks, and service vehicles.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance and fleet management.
Ability to supervise drivers and equipment operators.

Supervise drivers, mechanics, operators and other staff.
Monitor maintenance schedules and repair work for vehicles and equipment.
Ensure vehicles and heavy equipment are safe and operational.
Track fuel use, vehicle usage, mileage and maintenance records.
Coordinate deployment based on project needs.
Keep records for registrations, insurance, permits and documents.
Address maintenance issues promptly with mechanics and suppliers.
Control motorpool costs including fuel and parts.

About the role

Mike Steel Construction Inc. is looking for an experienced and reliable Motorpool Manager to oversee the company's fleet, equipment, drivers, and overall motorpool operations.

Key responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the motorpool and company fleet.
Supervise drivers, mechanics, operators, and other motorpool personnel.
Monitor preventive maintenance and repair schedules of company vehicles and equipment.
Ensure vehicles and heavy equipment are in safe and operational condition.
Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle usage, mileage, and maintenance records.
Coordinate vehicle and equipment deployment based on project requirements.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, insurance, permits, and other documents.
Inspect and monitor vehicle/equipment conditions and address maintenance issues promptly.
Coordinate with mechanics, suppliers, and service providers for repairs and parts.
Control and monitor motorpool expenses, including fuel, repairs, spare parts, and maintenance.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
At least 5 years of experience in motorpool, fleet, or equipment management, preferably in the construction industry.
Experience handling heavy equipment, trucks, service vehicles, and construction equipment.
Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, vehicle repairs, and fleet management.
Experience supervising drivers, mechanics, and equipment operators.
Knowledge of fleet monitoring, fuel management, and maintenance documentation.
Good leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Willing to work on-site and travel to project locations when required.
Preferably with a valid driver's license.
