Qualifications

About the role

The Mold Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving molds and tooling used in the production of plastic packaging products, particularly cylindrical containers and related packaging components. The position ensures that mold designs meet product specifications, quality standards, production requirements, and manufacturing efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop molds, dies, and tooling for plastic packaging products based on approved product specifications.

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mold designs, technical drawings, and specifications using CAD software.

• Ensure that mold designs are suitable for the intended plastic molding process and production requirements.

• Coordinate with the Production, Engineering, and Quality Control Departments regarding mold development, modifications, and improvements.

• Conduct mold design reviews and recommend solutions to address design defects and production issues.

• Assist in mold testing, trials, troubleshooting, and necessary design adjustments to ensure product quality.

• Monitor and recommend improvements in mold performance to minimize production downtime, material waste, and defects.

• Maintain proper documentation of mold designs, revisions, technical drawings, and related records.

• Ensure that all mold designs comply with company standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing specifications.

About you

• Graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or any related technical course.

• With experience in mold design, preferably in plastic manufacturing or packaging production.

• Knowledgeable in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent design programs.

• Familiar with plastic molding processes, mold components, and tooling development.

• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented, responsible, and capable of working independently or with a team.
