About the role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Technologist to join our clinical and medical research team based in Bataan, Central Luzon. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures that are essential to patient diagnosis, treatment and monitoring. As a Medical Technologist, you will work at the intersection of clinical care and research, utilising advanced laboratory techniques and equipment to generate accurate and reliable results. This position is critical to supporting our healthcare operations and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge through research initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a comprehensive range of laboratory tests including haematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology and urinalysis to support patient diagnosis and clinical decision-making
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring proper calibration, quality control and adherence to standard operating procedures
- Collect and process biological specimens, including blood, urine and other body fluids, whilst maintaining strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols
- Analyse laboratory results and identify abnormalities or errors, escalating findings to supervisory or medical staff as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results, reagent usage and equipment maintenance in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control programmes to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results
- Support clinical and medical research projects by conducting specialised tests and procedures as required
- Collaborate with clinical staff, physicians and research teams to provide timely and accurate laboratory information
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols, biosafety standards and infection prevention measures
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Newly licensed Medical Technologists are WELCOME to apply.
- Current professional licensure as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, as required by local regulatory authorities
- Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory or research setting, with demonstrated proficiency in performing standard laboratory tests and procedures
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, biosafety practices and infection control measures
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and automated analysers
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and reliable results
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic record-keeping software is advantageous
